Some watch soap operas. Some follow politics. Others enjoy keeping up with which Hollywood couple just broke up, or which starlet checked into rehab.
Others of us follow the never-ending NFL season cycle of the Chicago Bears. The Chicago Bears Football Club (at least that is the name I had to write the season ticket check out too) provide a steady stream of material to watch, critique, and cheer for.
This blog is intended to consolidate all the Bear talk that goes on amongst my friends. It also welcomes anyone with Bear comments, analysis, or predictions.
Enjoy, and Bear Down!

Interesting take.
My thoughts:
1. I agree with the decision to not blitz Manning as being just plain dumb. When you are the underdog you have to let it all hang out. That means blitzing from different angles in different ways periodically (6 times in the game does not equate to 'periodically.) Considering the Bears front 4 initiates a very shallow pass rush as it is, not blitzing more was suicidal.
2. I agree about Lovie. A great guy and a good coach. Is he the kind of guy who, given 2 weeks to prepare can craft an astute game plan? No. This is a problem.
3. The Bears had everything go their way this year. Sneaking away with wins against the likes of Arizona and Detroit is part of that. The NFC stinking like poo is part of that. Having Hasselbeck bobble the snap on 4th and 1 in Bears territory with less than a minute to play in the playoffs is part of that. This was the Bears chance. They didn't take advantage. Forget Rex and his talk about how they are hungry for next year. Rex is lucky to be on a team in the Super Bowl. It is unreal that the man was even in the situation he is in.
4. Speaking of Rex, the Bears need an upgrade at QB. Call Philly and inquire about McNabb. Supposedly he isn't too happy with the Eagles and factor in he is from Chicago, and it may worth offering a deal. Seriously. Who wouldn't you give up, besides maybe Urlacher, for McNabb? How about inquiring about Michael Vick? New coaching staff and some sour Atlanta fans could strike a deal to get him out of Atlanta. Remember when Grossman had no one in front of him for a first down and chose to throw to a Colts DB instead (that Dez Clark had to break up)? I think Vick would have taken off and got some serious yardage on that.
The QB is the most important position on the field. I am hearing people say that Rex is like a rookie and he needs a chance. Huh? Tom Brady had less starts than Rex and cooly won a Super Bowl. Give me a break. Like Rex has a huge upside in his 5'11, puny frame that just needs to be unleashed. Come on now.
The Bears need to make changes or they will not be going back next year. Mark my words. They may not be going back for awhile. Unfortunate, but a harsh reality.
